James K. Sullivan, 75, formerly of Rindge, NH, passed away at his home in West Swanzey after a courageous battle with pulmonary disease.
“Ken” was born in Boston on January 1, 1941, the youngest son of John and Ella (Mahoney) Sullivan. He grew up in Boston’s South End and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1958.
After Ken served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, he earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University in 1972.
Ken worked as a Certified Public Accountant and later worked at Hewlett Packard where he retired from in 2002.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator. Ken loved the cold weather, Skiing and coming home to his wife’s homemade cookies. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Monadnock Council 8544 and a Sir Knight with Saint Patrick Assembly 2129. He was a communicant and active member of Saint Patrick Parish in Jaffrey and a great friend to the Advent Lutheran Church in Rindge.
Ken met Suzanne Pelletier and they were married November 28, 1974 in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was a devoted husband and loving Uncle.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother William, his sister Jeanne Ellars and his nephew Alan.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Suzanne, of West Swanzey; his sister-in-law Ann Sullivan of Tewksbury, MA, and a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Ken will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM in Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in the spring at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers, Ken’s family would prefer memorial donations be made in his name to Hospice at HCS, PO Box 496, Peterborough, NH 03458, or to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots, c/o Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.
