Jane (Ciampa-Lemieux) Thorley

Jane (Ciampa-Lemieux) Thorley, 55 of North Street, Jaffrey died Wednesday May 5, 2010 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born February 26, 1955 in Dorchester MA, daughter of the late Raymond and Jean (Dunn) Thorley. She was a graduate of Dorchester High School and had attended Hesser College.

Jane has been a resident of Jaffrey since 1983 and previously since 1976 had lived in Winchester NH as well as Keene.
For the past ten years she has been employed by Millipore Corp. in Jaffrey before her illness forced her to retire. She had also worked at Teleflex in Jaffrey and the Antrim Girls Shelter.

Jane was a huge cat lover and she also had a green thumb and loved flowers and gardening. She loved being out-doors and especially watching the sunsets at the ocean. She enjoyed visiting Fort Independence at Castle Island in Boston Harbor.

Family members include her daughter Janice M. Frank of Fitchburg MA; three sons Richard R. Ciampa of Jaffrey, Raymond M. Lemieux of Winchendon MA and Michael E. Lemieux of White Sands New Mexico with the United States Army stationed in Afghanistan; nine grandchildren;a sister Joan Kelley of Quincy MA; a brother Robert Thorley of Plymouth MA; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Raymond Thorley, Jr. in 1969.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street,(Route 202 south) in Jaffrey.
