Janet D. LaCroix

Janet D. LaCroix, 76, of Jaffrey, died on January 9, 2024 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Peterborough, NH on October 18, 1947, daughter of the late George and Yvonne (Caron) Davis.  She was a 1965 graduate of Conant high school in Jaffrey and had lived here her entire life.

Until they moved, Janet enjoyed working for NEBS in Peterborough, and since then, had worked at Coll’s Farm Stand and had been a bus monitor locally assisting children with special needs. 

Janet had been a longtime member of the Jaffrey VFW auxiliary as well as Jaffrey’s American Legion Auxiliary post

She enjoyed anything outdoors and had even worked with search and rescue dogs at one point in her life.  Janet always loved serving on the Jaffrey Jubilee Committee, organizing the big events in town every August.  Janet also liked camping and woodworking, watching her hummingbirds, and she could talk about her beloved Red Sox and Patriots with anyone.

Janet was preceded in death by her son, Tracey, and by her sister, Edith Davis, and by her brother George Davis.

She is survived by her son, Rick, her three grandchildren, Hayleigh, Josh and Allison, and by her four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Autumn, Caroline and Sage, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River St. Jaffrey, New Hampshire 03452.
