Janice M. McIntyre, 47, of Jaffrey, died suddenly and unexpectedly at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after being stricken while shopping on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Janice was born in Keene, NH on January 27, 1968, the daughter of Michael McIntyre and the late Susan (Gagnon) McIntyre. She was raised globally while her father served in the U.S. Army and graduated from the Nurnberg American High School in Germany in 1986. Janice received her Associates Degree from the University of Maryland in Munich Germany and later her Bachelor’s Degree in 2008 from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge.
Since July of 1988 Janice has worked in many different capacities at N.E.B.S. in Peterborough and transitioned to Deluxe in Townsend, MA when the companies merged. Most recently, she had been working in a new position as a Safeguard Liaison Product Manager for the company.
She met her lifelong companion, Eric Cabana, at N.E.B.S. and together they settled down in Jaffrey. Janice was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed travelling to their away games whenever possible. She and Eric had travelled to Tampa, FL, Toronto, Canada, Cleveland, OH, and many more places, all in the interest of supporting her teams. Locally, Janice was an avid bowler at Bowling Acres in Peterborough. She also enjoyed travelling around New England and Canada competing in bowling tournaments. She had even appeared on the TV show ‘Candlepin Stars and Stripes’ while playing on several occasions.
Janice was predeceased by her mother, and by her sister, Cathy McIntyre on October 2, 2001.
She will be dearly missed by Eric, and by her dad Mike and his wife, Liz; by her 2 sisters, Kimberly of Gardner, MA and Marianne Conway of Marysville, WA; by her brother Daniel McIntyre of Swanzey, NH and by her large extended family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Visiting hours and a celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Saturday October 24, 2015 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH.
Burial will be later, at the convenience of the family.
