Jean Enman, 85, of Rindge, NH died peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home with her family by her side after a period of failing health
Jean was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late E. Wilfred and Ada (Shannehan) Folsom. Jean attended Boston Public Schools in West Roxbury and had graduated from the Penn Hall Junior College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
She and her husband had lived throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut, and had summered in the Monadnock region since 1955. They retired together in 1989 and made the region their home ever since.
In addition to being a great mom, she also helped her husband build two companies from the ground up: the J. Enman Company and Enman Sales Associates. After her retirement, Jean continued to be activein the community visiting and delivering Meals on Wheels to the residents of Jaffrey for over ten years. She was also very active in the Jaffrey Womans Club and enjoyed travelling almost as much as she loved to read.
Jean was preceded in death by her brother Earl Folsom.
She is survived by her husband John Enman of Rindge and together they were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, November 13th. Jean is also survived by her daughter Carol Enman of Cumberland ME; her two sons, Blair and his wife Claudette Enman of Rutland, VT, and Wesley and his wife Anne Enman of Antrim, NH and her 5 grandchildren, who she considered to be her greatest accomplishment. Jean is also survived by her 2 brothers, Donald Folsom of Keene, NH and Richard Folsom of Westwood, MA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeans name to Hospice at HCS, PO Box 496, Peterborough, NH 03458.
At her request, there will be no calling hours.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
