Jean Carol McBride Griggs
Jean went home to live with our Lord Jesus on Sunday, July 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with Adenoid Cystic Cancer.
Jean was born in Syracuse, NY on June 5, 1959, daughter of Kenneth and Lucretia (Balestra) McBride. She was a graduate of Red Creek Central High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Eisenhower College in Seneca Falls, NY.
Through the years, Jean had lived in various communities including, Victory, NY, Romulus, NY and Greenville, NH before settling in Sharon, NH in 2010.
Jean had been working as a micro-manufacturing technician at Kimball Physics in Wilton until her health prevented her from doing so. She was able to continue doing many things she loved to do, like reading, researching family genealogy, and crocheting things for her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Atwood McBride in 2009. Her brother, Berry McBride also died earlier.
In addition to her mother, Jean is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Steven W. Griggs of Sharon; her daughter Natalie Dannecker of Rhode Island; her son Kyle Griggs of Derry; her brother Steven McBride of West Virginia; her sister Rosanne Arenburg of Dover, NH her 2 step-daughters, Michele of Delaware and Holly of New York; her step-son Scott of Maryland; 2 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
There will be no visitation hours held.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Peterborough United Methodist Church, 43 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458 and will be officiated by Pastor Lourey Savick.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Jean’s memory to Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Organization International, P.O. Box 112186, Tacoma, WA 98411, or to the Peterborough Fire & Rescue, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
