Jean (Simpson) Rice

Jean (Simpson) Rice of Jaffrey, NH, passed away in her home unexpectedly on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the age of 76.

Jean was born on July 11, 1939 in Bournemouth, England to the late Raymond and Winifred Simpson. Jean lived in Acton, MA for many years and recently moved to Jaffrey NH.

Upon graduating school in Bournemouth, Dorset, England, Jean moved to the United States and have held positions in child care, received her real estate license and worked many years in the real estate market, then went on the work in the telemarketing field until her recent retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting York Beach, Maine, during the summer and had a love for animals and was hoping to adopt a dog in the near future.

She will be deeply missed by her son and his wife, Mark and Catherine Caputo, her grandchildren, Bryan and Alyssa Caputo, all of Townsend, MA. She also leaves her sister and her husband, Marlene and Diego Rivas of Madrid, Spain; a brother and his wife, Steven and Jane Simpson of Weymouth, Dorset, England.

Because of Jean’s great love of dogs, please remember her by contributing in her memory to the Monadnock Humane Society at 101 W. Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
