Jeannette A. (Ouellette) St.George, 87, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the place she loved the most, her summer cottage in Rindge NH.
Jeannette was born and raised in Jaffrey, NH and had resided in Wellesley, MA, Templeton, MA and Lancaster, MA with her husband.
Jeannette was born on September 17, 1927 in the Cheshire village of Jaffrey. She was the first child of Antonio and Josephine (Caron) Ouellette. Her childhood was filled with happy family outings to Greenville, NH and hard work helping her parents care for her 8 brothers and sisters.
Jeannette graduated from Conant High School in 1945 and pursued a career in Nursing. She graduated from Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1949. She met her lifelong love, Raymond St.George in Feb 1949 and married on November 11, 1950. They were married for 56 years.
Jeannette moved to Seattle, Washington when Raymond served in the Korean War and worked as a Head Floor Nurse at Seattle Children’s Hospital. After the war, she returned to MA and was a Dorm Mother at Babson College while her husband pursued his Bachelors and Master’s degrees. She also worked during this time at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Devoted to her family, she became a homemaker and continued working as a bookkeeper for Gates and Greenwood Insurance and Montachusett Transportation.
Jeannette was a lifelong Red Sox fan attending several games and when she could not attend in person, she watched her favorite team faithfully on TV. Additionally, she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and dance recitals. She also loved to do puzzles and read.
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband Raymond St.George on August 3, 2006. Her sisters, Connie Desmarais and Lorraine Slagle also died earlier.
Jeannette is survived by her 3 loving daughters: Diane Wilder and her husband Daniel of Bradenton FL; Holly Dorr and her husband Michael Pitts of Foxborough, MA; and Sheila Milioto and her husband William of Lancaster MA. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Christopher Wilder of Salt Lake City, Utah; Matthew Wilder and his wife Jodi (Dube) of Gardner, MA; Caitlin Dorr of Houston TX; Carolyn Dorr of Foxboro MA; Christian, Alicia and Rebecca Milioto of Lancaster, MA. Jeannette was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Addison Wilder.
Jeanette also leaves behind her brothers and sisters: Rachel Walsh of Hanson, MA; Loretta (Phyllis) Gill of Scituate, MA; Doreen Walsh of Placerville, CA; Richard Ouellette of Jaffrey, NH; Bruce Ouellette of Bakersfield, CA; and Celeste Ouellette Colmar of Winchester, NH. In addition, she touched the lives of dozens of her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are warmly invited to Calling Hours on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13th at 11:00 am at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Burial will follow in the family lot at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Jeannette St. George to support lymphoma research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute c/o [Caron Jacobson’s] lymphoma research fund, P.O.
