Jeffrey A. Ross, 70, of Rindge, NH died unexpectedly on Friday, August 1, 2014.
Jeff was the loving son of the late Burton D. Ross and Barbara N. Ross of Hyannis, MA, brother of the late Barry Ross of Hanson, MA and late Wayne Ross of East Bridgewater, MA.
Jeff was a 1961 graduate of Whitman High School, went on to graduate from Burdett College in 1964 and Plymouth State College in 1970, with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing.
Starting in his teens, Jeff spent 30 summers working with his family at their restaurants; The Barnacle and Jay’s on Craigville Beach - Cape Cod, MA. Beginning in 1972, Jeff taught at Conant High School for 25 years, always among the most popular of teachers with both students and colleagues. From 1986 to 1992 he was a partner and executive chef owning Addison’s Restaurant in Jaffrey NH, and later worked many years with Atlas Fireworks.
A star athlete in his younger years, Jeff remained an avid sports enthusiast, always making friendly wagers with his brother Wayne and close friends. He most enjoyed spending time with his ‘lovely Bride’ Betsy, family and friends – renowned for his sense of humor and as a master story teller.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth A. Ross of Rindge NH; his daughters; Michelle Pino and husband Anthony of Sandwich, MA, Jessica Kenyon and husband Jason of Seattle, WA, and Erica Ross Skianes and husband Chris of Methuen, MA; grandchildren Tyler Ross Pino and Addison Marie Skianes; his mother, Barbara Ross, brother Robert Ross and by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff’s life on Monday, August 11, 2014 between 4 PM and 7 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202 South) Jaffrey, NH 03452.
In lieu of flowers, the Ross family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Good Neighbor Fund, PO Box 486, Jaffrey NH 03452.
