Troy, New Hampshire Joan A. Rockwell, 69, of Bigelow Hill Road in Troy died peacefully on Thursday February 9, 2012, at her home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Worcester MA, on August 19, 1942, daughter of the late Frederick G. and Marion (Pelkey) Singleton, Sr. Joan attended schools in Troy and had lived in Fitzwilliam and Peterborough before moving to Troy. She had retired in 2004 from New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough after working as an inspector there for over 27 years. She was a fan of Jeff Gordon and had attended many of the NASCAR races in Loudon. She also enjoyed softball, crafts, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends. Her door was always open. She married Arthur F. Rockwell, Jr on August 6, 1988. He died on December 19, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Fred Singleton Jr. in 1997 and her mother died on November 22, 2011. She is survived by her first husband, Howard ‘Peanut’ Patch and his wife Shirley of Winchendon, MA; her daughter, Penny Patch Davies and her partner Bill Russell of Troy; her 3 sons, Donald Patch and his partner Lynn Weaver of Troy, Jeffrey Patch and his partner Ann Cloutier of Fitzwilliam, and Michael Patch of Rindge; her sister Carolyn Williams and her husband Bob of Troy, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A private graveside service will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery Peterborough in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Rockwell’s name to Home Healthcare, Hospice Community Services, PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431.
At Joan’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion Hall on Webster Street in Jaffrey.
