Joan D LaCoon

Joan D. LaCoon, 87, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away in her home on June 28, 2023, following an acute illness.

Joan was born on December 12, 1935, in Keene, NH, daughter of Fred and Flora Wyman. She graduated from Keene High School in 1953. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Frank L. LaCoon on July 25, 1953.

Outside of her time spent at home caring for the family, Joan worked as a bookkeeper with Russell Calkins Public Accountant. Joan enjoyed shopping, reading and hand work. She was very fond of her beloved Boston Terrier “Tuffy.”

In addition to both of her parents Fred and Flora, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Frank L. LaCoon, her twin sister, Jean Wyman, her brother chandler Wyman, and her son-in-law, Alan Swift.

She is survived by her children; Jane Swift of Marlborough, NH, Cathy Lawlor and her husband Peter of Walpole, NH, Peter LaCoon of Marlborough, NH, Sue Ellis and her husband Jeff of Swanzey, NH, her sister Cherolyn Robinson of Marlborough, NH, Her Grandchildren; Jason Swift of Keene, NH, Melissa Swift of Thomas, OR, Eric Smith of Walpole, NH, Stephanie Smith McMahon of Westmoreland, NH, Kevin Ellis of Richmond, NH, and Crystal Ellis Strickland of Keene, NH, as well as 13 great-grandchildren, and many cousins and friends.

There will be no services.

Joan will be laid to rest at the Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene, NH at the convenience of the family.
