Jo-Ann M. Harvey, 71, formerly of Clarksburg, MA and of Jaffrey, NH passed away peacefully on March 21, 2014 with her husband by her side.
Jo-Ann was born in North Adams, MA on September 4, 1942, daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Parisien) Harvey. She was a noted figure in the Jaffrey area being named Citizen of the Year in 1993. Jo-Ann taught in a number of the local schools as well as Franklin Pierce College. She was active in St. Patrick’s Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes for many years.
Jo-Ann could be seen at the Hancock, and Peterborough Craft Shows and the Eastern States Exposition displaying her quilts in which she took much pride until her eyesight began to fail.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert M. Austin of Jaffrey.
Jo-Ann leaves her sisters Windella Marion, and Charlotte M. Harvey and her brother Daniel A. Harvey, a nephew Christopher Marion and two nieces, Kim Baran and Tammy VanGundy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey.
As Jo-Ann was a former Sister of Saint Joseph, donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 34 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
