John H. Moore, Jr.

John H. Moore, Jr. 73, of Jaffrey died peacefully on Friday, March 09, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Florida while surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 3, 1944 in Gardner, MA, son of the late John and Arlene (Austin) Moore. He attended local schools.

John had worked for many years at the Tack Shop, W.W. Cross Co, in Jaffrey, before working at Millipore and Walmart.

He enjoyed, camping, sailing, football, basketball & baseball. He was an avid Patriot, RedSox and Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed going to classic car shows and Johnny Cash. He especially enjoyed spending the winter in Florida seeing his grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

John’s wife of 41 years, Dorothy, predeceased him on November 17, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter, Molly B. Betourney and her husband Brian of Englewood Florida; his son David J. Moore and his wife Chrisi of Jaffrey NH; three grandchildren Matthew R. Betourney of Port Charlotte,FL, Ashley G. Betourney-Wills and her wife Crystal Wills of Rotonda West, FL; Aaron M. Betourney with the United States Navy stationed at San Diego, CA, 2 great grandchildren Ethan and Brayden of Rotonda West, FL , his sister Catherine Moore of Rindge, NH and two nieces Dianne and Rebecca.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 7th, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

Burial will be next to his wife in Conant Cemetery, Jaffrey.
