John R. Kauer

John Raymond Kauer, 32, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2023. He was born September 23, 1991, in Saginaw, Michigan, a son of the late John Lynn Kauer and Beverly Ann Burba.

John had a love of history, with a focus on World War II. You could find him out with his metal detector where he would find all sorts of old coins, buttons, and trinkets. He had a passion for coin collecting and was a firearm enthusiast. John loved sharing his knowledge with anyone who would listen.

John was also quite the handy man. He started his own landscaping company years ago.

When he wasn't out metal detecting or working, you could find John fishing. His love of fishing started at a very young age when his Grandpa Burba would take him out on his pontoon boat in Higgins Lake. They would be out all day and proudly come back to show off their catch of the day.

John is survived by his siblings, Mary Chapman (Eric) and Joseph Kauer; his niece and nephew, Emma and Eli; his grandpa Lynn Kauer (Crystal); his Aunt Renee LaLonde, step Aunt Janice Olafson, Aunt Mary Kusowski, Aunt Joanne Kostrzewa (John), and Aunt Debra Haremski (James); and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joan Kauer, Dorothy Burba, and Raymond Burba; his Uncle Eugene Kusowski; and his cousin Daniel Kusowski.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202 South) Jaffrey, NH 03452.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Rindge, NH.
