Alfred Henry Catozzi, Jr., quietly went home to be with the Lord at the age of 88 on November 24, 2009 after a short stay at Keene Genesis Eldercare.
He was born in Ludlow, VT on June 14, 1921, son of the late Alfred Henry and Ruth (Pearson) Catozzi.
An avid trumpet player, Alfred graduated in 1939 from Windsor High School, served as a Radio/Teletype Operator in Europe during World War II, and worked for Central Vermont Railroad until his retirement in 1981. Alfred was an active member of First Baptist Church of Windsor, VT, as well as the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Brattleboro, VT. He was associated with Rumney Bible Conference, Rumney, NH, from his teenage years until his death. Alfred was dearly loved and will be missed, but his family smiles thinking of him blowing his trumpet in heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Catozzi of Rumney, NH and Bowling Green, FL, and children Sheila Catozzi of Surprise, AZ, Andrew Catozzi of Hinsdale, NH, Marcia Garland of Lancaster, PA, and Lori Warner, wife of Gary Warner, of Surry, NH. Grandchildren include Hannah and Mary Garland of Lancaster, PA, Mikelle Catozzi of Hinsdale, NH, and Seth and Ross Warner of Surry, NH. He is also survived by his sisters Alfrieda Peightell of Lebanon, NH and Cynthia Sticklin of Edmonton-Alberta, Canada and several nieces and nephews.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Friday July 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, (Route 3) Boscawen, NH 03303
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service and celebration of Al's life will be held on July 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Rumney Bible Conference, 31 Gilford Avenue, Rumney, NH 03266
