Daniel L. Jewell, Jr., 44, of Rindge, NH died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH from complications after suffering a stroke.
Dan was born in Peterborough, NH on September 23, 1964, son of Daniel and Ruth (Bishop) Jewell, Sr. He had attended schools in Jaffrey. Danny had worked at the transfer station in Francestown for many years and had previously worked at the Rindge transfer station as well. Due to increasing health complications he was no longer able to work and returned home to live with his mother.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and always cheered for Dale Jarrett. More recently, his favorite had been Matt Kenseth. Dan always enjoyed listening to music. He was known for his creative cooking and was a connoisseur of fine food. He will be remembered as being a friend for life because Dan was always there for any friend or family member who needed help.
He was preceded in death by his father on May 9, 1991
In addition to his mother, Dan is survived by his daughter Stephanie Dunklee of Nashua, New Hampshire; his sister Kristina Martin of Jaffrey; his two brothers Dana and Dennis Jewell, both of Jaffrey and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and countless close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to your local food bank.
Burial will take place in the spring at the family lot in Cutter Cemetery, Jaffrey.
Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) in Jaffrey.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow calling hours at 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jeffrey B. Tibbetts of the Redeeming Grace Ministries Church will officiate.
