Joseph Frederick 'Rick' Forcier, Jr.

Joseph Frederick Rick Forcier, Jr., 64, of Peace Drive in Jaffrey, died peacefully Tuesday April 5, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born in Peterborough on July 30, 1946, son of the late J. Frederick and Irene Frances (Gibson) Forcier. Rick was a graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey. He had served with the United States Navy where he attended Naval Mechanic School in Memphis Tenn., and was stationed in Atsugi, Japan as well as in Texas. He was a member of the John Humiston Post #11 of the American Legion, and also the Jaffrey Memorial Post #5613 VFW.

At the time of his death Rick was employed as Highway Foreman for the Town of Jaffrey, a position he has held for the past thirty-six years. He was formerly employed at Supernaut Corp. in Jaffrey.

Rick was a member of the Monadnock Rod and Gun Club and was active with the annual Cannon Shoots. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, metal detecting and vacationing on the coast of Maine. His family tells about his love of cooking and how he could cook a great steak, also the many lobsters he cooked while in Maine.

Survivors include his daughter Nicole L. Goulet of Antioch Illinois; his two sons Joseph Frederick Forcier III of Jaffrey and Brian Forcier of Greer, South Carolina; six grandchildren; his sister Sandra M. Taylor of Jaffrey; nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Jaffrey Memorial Post # 5613 VFW, Post Office Box 483, Jaffrey NH 03452.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be heldat the Jaffrey Memorial Post 5613 VFW hall on Sunday April 10, 2011 beginning at 12:00 Noon.
