Thomas Francis Kelley, Jr. 91, of Union Street in Peterborough, died Thursday March 24, 2011 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough following a period of failing health.
He was born November 11, 1919, in Janesville, Wisconsin son of the late Thomas F. and Martha (Munich) Kelley. He was a 1939 graduate of Templeton (MA) High School, and has been a resident of Peterborough since 1967. He previously resided in Framingham MA.
Since moving to Peterborough Mr. Kelly was employed as an automobile sales person for Perry Motors, for thirty years. While living in Massachusetts he was employed with Raytheon in Framingham for fourteen years, working on the Hawk, Sparrow and Polaris Missile Projects.
Mr. Kelley was a member of the Union Congregational Church, Aleppo Alamont Lodge F AM of West Peterborough, also the Shrine Temple in Wilmington (MA) . He was a past scoutmaster for BSA Troop #27 in Templeton MA. As a scout himself, he attended the National Jamboree at Valley Forge PA in 1940.
He loved to travel, especially to Germany and he had traveled extensively throughout Europe.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn L. (Jodrey) Kelley whom he married October 15, 1954.
Survivors also include his sister Eilene Sylvester of Peterborough; a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by a sister Harriet Kelley of Jaffrey
