Jaffrey, NH JUNE A. KING, 92 of formerly School Street, Jaffrey, died Sunday November 25, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey. She was born October 20, 1915 in Baltimore MD daughter of the late Richard and Frances (Stewart) Atkins. She had attended and graduated from Baltimore schools. A proud moment in her life was enlisting in the Womens Army Corps during World War II. She was medically discharged later in the war. She married Harry Williford in December 1932. He was killed in a construction accident in Mississippi in August 1936. June has been a resident of Jaffrey since the early 1960s She worked as bookkeeper at the former Elite Laundry in Jaffrey for many years. She married Edward J. King of Greenfield Mass in May 1959. Together they operated movie theaters in Groveton NH and the former Park Theater in Jaffrey. During those years in Jaffrey they sponsored many community events for children at the Park Theater. Edward J. King died October 30, 1979. Following Eds death she remained in Jaffrey and tried to stay active and involved in various community events. She is survived by a son Harry G. Williford and his wife Cynthia of Wellington Maine; two grandchildren Karen Sailor and husband Steve of Milford, NJ, Christopher Williford and wife Patricia of Littleton, NH; two great grandchildren Shawn Williford and Leighanna Williford both of Littleton NH; several close friends.
Mrs. King has requested that there be no flowers sent, that all memorial contributions be made to the Jaffrey- Rindge Memorial Ambulance, Post Office Box 107, Jaffrey NH 03452.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey. Rev Wilfred H. Deschamps, pastor of St Patrick Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
