Mrs. June M. (Smith) LaPrade, 88, formerly of Abel Road in Rindge NH passed away March 29, 2011. At the time of her death, she was residing at Pheasant Wood Harborside in Peterborough, NH.
She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts Feb. 11, 1923 the daughter of the late Axel and Rose (Largesse) Smith.
June worked for many years at Victory Market in Fitchburg, MA and Ames Dept store of Peterborough, NH
Her family was her favorite past time. She enjoyed going camping,
knitting, country music and karaoke. For many years she knitted hats and mittens for Hillsboro Operation Christmas, the Ashby Library Mitten Tree and the Division of Children and Families in Fitchburg, MA .
She was married to Emery A. LaPrade . They were married at Camp LeJune, North Carolina July 8, 1943. In March 1976 Emery passed away following 33 years of marriage.
She leaves 7 children, her daughters Barbara (LaPrade) Forget of Rindge NH, Beverly LaPrade of Winchendon, MA, Susan (LaPrade) Brissette of Hillsboro, NH, Rose (LaPrade) Seymour of Ashby, MA, Kathy LaPrade of Brookline, NH, two sons Michael LaPrade of Ashby, MA and Norman LaPrade of New Ipswich, NH.
She leaves 11 grandchildren Michelle (Forget) White of Milford, NH, Kerri (Forget)Kelley of New Boston, NH, David Forget of Milford, NH Daniel Howe of Bennington, NH, Keith Howe of Hillsboro, NH, Tania (Brissette) Emerson, Christopher Brissette of New Boston, NH, Timothy Seymour of Ashby, MA, Katherine LaPrade of Billerica, MA, Jonathan LaPrade of Ashby, MA, Emery LaPrade of New Ipswich NH.
She also leaves 13 Great Grandchildren, Sarah and Brenden White, Alex and Victoria Kelley, Jacob, Matthew and Sydney Forget, Jordan Robertson, Kyle Howe, Kaylin and Mason Emerson, Mia Brissette and Hannah Seymour. She was the sister of Kenneth Smith of Wilmington, Delaware. She also leaves several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her brother Howard Smith of Fitchburg, MA, a sister Barbara Robbins of Newington, CT and a daughter Judy E. LaPrade of Fitchburg, MA.
June has requested that her service be private and at the convenience of the family. She instead wants you to take the time that you would have spent attending her service and do something to enhance the life of a child or animal. Our family wants you to remember her infectious smile and her drive to make the world a better place.
