Kathleen DeWitt Chase

Kathleen DeWitt Chase, 72, of Mason, NH passed away peacefully at her home on December 28, 2015.

Kathy was born on May 22, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Thomas and Estelle (Rothwell) DeWitt. She was a 1964 graduate of the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. In 1966, she married K. Michael Chase and together they began their family. After her children were all in school, she continued her own education and earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College.

Kathy maintained an active life as a school nurse for the Mascenic School District for over 32 years (most of those at Boynton Middle School), enjoying interactions with students past and present as well as spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Kathy was a very dedicated nurse and enjoyed nursing so much, she served as a camp nurse for 4H summer camps for over 2 decades.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, K. Michael Chase of Mason, as well as her four children: Peter K. Chase and his wife Katherine of Derry, NH, Kathryn Seppala and her husband Juha of New Ipswich, NH, Steven M. Chase and his wife Anita of Pittsburgh, PA, and Andrew D. Chase of Matthews, NC. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and her sister, Gretchen DeWitt of Bryn Mayr, PA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend calling hours from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family.
