Keegan Thomas Duffy, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Manchester, NH.
He was born on March 30, 1987, the son of Thomas Duffy and Katie Wheeler. As the youngest, and only brother of three sisters, Keegan had a special spotlight in the Duffy family. He was a cherished member of a large extended family and had a knack for making people laugh. In his youth, he was a talented athlete and he always had many friends. Keegan will be remembered for his huge heart and hilarious sense of humor. His two children, Gretchen and James, were the apple of his eye.
After graduating from Victory High School in 2005, Keegan enlisted in the United States Army. He was deployed to Iraq for 15 months where he courageously served his country as an infantry machine gunner for Chosen Co 2-12 Infantry 2nd ID. His fellow soldiers describe him in his time of theater as selfless, heroic, and fearless. For his service, Keegan was awarded a Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Combat Infantry Badge.
Keegan was predeceased by his sister, Meggie Duffy, in 2020. He is survived by his father, Thomas Duffy; mother, Katie Wheeler; sister, Hannah Duffy Thompson; sister, Caitlin Duffy Wright; and children, Gretchen Scarlett Duffy and James Baylis Duffy. He will also be lovingly remembered and missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, Army brothers, and countless friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3:00-5:00PM at Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00PM at Cournoyer Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will be held immediately following the service at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey. Rev. Mark Koyama, Pastor of the United Church of Jaffrey will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Liberty House, a Veterans Organization in Manchester, NH, 221 Orange St, Manchester, NH 03104.
