Lauren A. Peard

December 8, 1948 — April 4, 2017

On Tuesday, April 04, 2017, we peacefully said goodbye to Lauren A. Peard, after her long struggle with declining health.

Lauren was born on December 8, 1948 in Peterborough, NH, the oldest of 5 children of the late Adrien ‘Cuffy’ and Alice (Forcier) Ouellette. She was active in her youth and enjoyed playing Clarinet in the band and cheerleading while in school. Lauren was a 1966 graduate of Conant High School and on May 12, 1967, Lauren married her high school sweetheart, John M. Peard, and together they raised their 4 sons in Jaffrey.

Lauren was instrumental in the day-to-day operations behind the scenes and managing the family businesses of Red’s and Monadnock Disposal Service. She wisely chose to retire early to allow herself ample time to be able to enjoy her grandchildren and take a very active role in their lives. Lauren enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll, loudly at times, while crocheting and knitting blankets for her family. She loved tending to her flower gardens; both in Jaffrey and at her coastal waterfront home in Edgewater, Florida where she could watch Dolphins and Manatees play gracefully daily. Lauren was a member of the Jaffrey Memorial VFW Post #5613 Auxiliary and a strong supporter of all of the Veterans organizations, as well as a lifetime member of the NRA.

In addition to her parents, Lauren was preceded in death by her youngest son, Daniel L. Peard on January 5, 2013, her husband, John M. Peard, Sr. on December 15, 2016, her sister Christina ‘Tina’ Lafleur on December 11, 2015, her brother Alan G. Ouellette on July 25, 2003, and her brother David A. Ouellette on April 26, 2016.

She leaves behind her three sons, John Peard, Jr. and his girlfriend Emily Barthel of Jaffrey; the mother of his children, Cindy Day-King of Deering; Matthew Peard and his wife Charmaine of Rindge, and Nathan Peard of Logan, Utah; her grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Matthew Wright, Jacob, Aiden, Jessica, James, Ashley, Maicee, Presleigh, Sierra and her husband David Browning, Evangeleigha, Amelia Rose, Alekzander, Kendrik, Garrett and Evan; a great-grandson Henry Browning; her sister, Lynn Lord and her husband Bobby of Lyndonville, VT, Garrett and Evan’s mother, April Senechal, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless close friends.

The family requests that flowers be omitted. Instead, please remember Lauren by making a contribution to any local community program in Jaffrey, or to the Jaffrey Firefighters Company, Inc., 138 Turnpike Road, Jaffrey, NH 03452

At Lauren’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Saint Patrick, 89 Main Street Jaffrey, NH. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Following cremation, burial will take place with her family at Cutter Cemetery in Jaffrey.
