Lena Raymond

Lena Raymond, 88, of Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019 with her family by her side at Genesis Healthcare in Keene.

Lena was born in Campton, NH. She was the daughter of the late William (Willie) Thibault and Lena (Comeau) Thibault. The family moved back to Concession, Nova Scotia when Lena was roughly 2 years old. At the age of 16, Lena moved back to New Hampshire where she would live out the rest of her life.

Lena married Wilfred F. Raymond in Keene, NH on November 17, 1949. They lived in Troy, NH and eventually moved to Fitzwilliam, NH.

Lena worked at Troy Mills and the surrounding mills as a spinner for years. Later she would move on to work at W.W. Cross and Millipore in Jaffrey, NH. When not working, she enjoyed gardening (vegetable and flower) canning, making Christmas wreaths, knitting and quilting, word search puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending time with family.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lena Thibault, her husband, Honey (Wilfred) Raymond, and by her brothers, Willie Thibault (Michigan), Victor Thibault (Ontario, Canada) and Alphonse Thibault (Ontario, Canada).

Lena is survived by her daughter, Rose (Rosalie) Walkonen, her son-in-law Paul Walkonen and her granddaughter Andrea Walkonen, and by her sisters, Elizabeth Comeau, Regina LeBlanc and Mary Cook, all from Nova Scotia, Canada.

As requested by Lena, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the summer.
