Jaffrey
LEO J. BOURQUE, 81, of Stratton Road, Jaffrey passed away peacefully Wednesday July 15, 2009 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born on May 3, 1928 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, son of the late Philias and Madeline (Fagan) Bourque.
Leo was a member of St. Patrick Church, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion Post 11 and a Volunteer Fireman in Jaffrey for 25 years.
He retired as an executive from New Hampshire Ball Bearing, Co. in Peterborough where he was employed for 38 years. After retiring, he worked in his home golf repair business and frequently played golf at Winchendon School Golf Club where he was a long time member. In his early years he also enjoyed working on race cars.
Family includes his wife of 61 years, Bertha (Belletete) Bourque of Jaffrey, his son Gary of Lancaster, MA, his daughter Holly Reinhard of Enfield, CT., five grandchildren, two brothers George and Robert Bourque, both of Fitchburg, MA, a sister Mary of Lancaster, MA and several nephews and nieces
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, PO Box 107, Jaffrey, NH 03452 or to Monadnock Kitty Rescue and Adoption, 14 Coolidge Street, Jaffrey NH 03452.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.
Friends may call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey on Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 20, 2009 at 10:00AM in St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Father Thomas Bourque will officiate.
