Lucie Leduc, 93, formerly of Rindge and Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Tucson, AZ on November 16, 2024.
Lucie was born on February 13, 1931, in Lowell, MA, daughter of the late Leonile and Cora (Mallioux) Lessard. She was raised and educated in Lowell and nearby Chelmsford, MA.
Lucie married Joseph H. Leduc and they enjoyed almost 70 years of marriage. Through the years, she worked in nursing homes throughout the Lowell and Billerica areas. After moving to NH in 1986, they became caretakers of Gilmore Court in Jaffrey, where they lived for more than 20 years.
Lucie enjoyed nature, listening to country music on her tablet and watching her favorite TV shows. But mostly she enjoyed family, near and far.
Lucie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her daughter, Annette Gagne, and son in law Stephen Porell as well as many of her 10 siblings.
She is survived by two sisters, Pauline Craven of Lexington, MA, Theresa Roberts of Chelmsford, MA, her two daughters, Pauline Porell of Lewiston, ME, and Cathy Brooks of Tucson, AZ. She was beloved and respected by her three sons-in-law, Stephen Porell, Jim Brooks, and Ray Gagne. Lucie had 9 grandchildren: Mary Ann (John) Dyson of Lowell, Sandra (Ray) Gordon of Penacook, NH, Christy (Chris Smith) Matte of Tewksbury, MA, Joshua Maker of Lewiston, Danica (Robert) Holley of Silver Spring, MD, Jamil (Rosaura) Brooks of Tucson, AZ, Eric Gagne of Peterborough, NH, Courtney (Brock) Lambert of Jaffrey, NH and Paul (Candice) Gagne of Rindge, NH. She was Memere Lucie to 13 great grandchildren: Maggie (Andrew) Cordeiro and Kate Dyson, Hannah, Claire, and Tim Gordon, Ethan and Becca Matte, Asiel and Zaire Brooks, Natalie and Mia Lambert, Zadie Gagne, and Arlo Gagne. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place in the Spring, at the convenience of the family.
Lucie loved horses and had fond memories of the family horse Blackie when she was young. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Steady Strides Riding Center in Tucson, Arizona, an inclusive non-profit riding center that welcomes riders of all abilities.
