Lynda E. Whitaker

Lynda E. Whitaker, 45, of Troy, NH died Saturday November 17th after a brief period of failing health. She died peacefully in her home in the loving care of her companion and her children. Lynda was born in Fitchburg, MA on July 3, 1967, daughter of the late Newell Whitaker and Nancy (Kenney) Stratton. Lynda was employed for the past 13 years at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH where she was well loved and respected by so many. Lynda loved the outdoors, she enjoyed kayaking and hiking in the Monadnock Region with her companion and children. She really enjoyed night hiking to view the stars. Lynda was very passionate about gardening. Camping trips, yardsales, trips to old orchard beach, a trip to Rome with her mom, and family gatherings were all very special. Lynda’s biggest love was time spent with her grandchildren and family. She was a very caring, loving, and generous person who was always there to help anyone. Lynda always had a smile on her face, a beautiful person who touched the hearts of all she met. She is survived by her loving companion Reginald Barden, her parents Fred Nancy Stratton of Jaffrey, NH; her daughter Jennifer and her husband Patrick Mire of Billings, MO; her two sons Matthew Pelkey of Troy, NH and Joseph Bailey of Concord, NH; 3 grandchildren, Blake Mire, Drake Mire and Killian Bailey; her five brothers, George his wife Sandy Wattendorf of Northwood, NH, Mark Wattendorf and his partner Maureen, of Raeford, NC, James and his wife Cynthia Brady of Moreno Valley, CA, John Wattendorf of Hyannis, MA, Newell and his wife Stacy Whitaker of Peterborough, NH and her sister Mary and her husband John Blake of Fitzwilliam, NH; an Aunt, an Uncle, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery in Troy.
