Marianne Morse

Marianne Morse, 88, of Francestown, NH, passed away on April 3, 2024, following a period of declining health. She was born in Waltham, MA, on July 10, 1935, a daughter to the late Leonard D. and Barbara R. Johnson Wood.  

She attended and graduated from Arlington High School, class of 1953. She went on to attend Green Mountain Jr. College in Poultney, VT, class of 1955. 

She was an active professional, holding down an impressive list of careers including Certified nursing assistant, Hospice, Healing Touch Practitioner, Certified Remotivating Therapist, Diversional Aide, Volunteer Coordinator where she was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award by Governor Judd Gregg in 1990 having managed over 125 volunteer programs. She also was the Director of Activities in her last held position in Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, NH up until her retirement in 2000.  Besides her professional career, she also partook in her community in her free time, joining many boards and memberships including; the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP), Healing Touch International, New Hampshire Association of Activity Professionals, New Hampshire Direct Support Professionals, National Remotivation Therapy Association and was a board member on the non-profit From the Heart Studio and Gardens and For persons with disabilities focusing on their abilities. Marianne spent time as a television personality for Channel 32 WRLP of Northfield, MA, radio for WKNE of Keene, NH and was the owner and operator of the House of Mud N’ Color in West Swanzey, NH. Throughout her professional career she also greatly enjoyed leisurely activities such as arts and crafts, time on the water and going to the beach and although she loved her career, her family was her most significant achievement.

In addition to both of her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Mark L. Gunnerson, and her husband Charles Morse. 

Marianne is survived by her children, Marie Gunnerson of Maynard, MA, Barbara Wilson of Florida, Elizabeth Dunning of Francestown, NH, Grandchildren, Melissa Vorce of Florida, Jamie Gunnerson of Maynard, MA, Mark Gunnerson of Sarasota Fl. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452. Her Memorial Service will begin in the Chapel of the funeral home at 2:00pm. Her daughter, Marie, will officiate. 

Burial will be held later and at the convenience of the family.
