Marie S. Hautanen

Marie S. Hautanen, 92, of Jaffrey died Thursday June 25, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey after a period of failing health.

She was born in Sainte-Louise, Canada on July 5, 1916, daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Verret) Ouellette. Mrs. Hautanen moved to Jaffrey when she was 13 and received her education here in town.

She worked at D.D. Bean Sons briefly before becoming a caretaker for Mr. Mrs. Frank Baldwin for many years. This would ultimately prepare her for becoming a wonderful and loving caretaker for her husband after he suffered a serious stroke.

Cooking was a favorite pastime of Mrs. Hautanen; she also enjoyed camping every summer, all summer, for many years.

Her husband Eino J. Hautanen died August 23, 1992.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hautanens name to the Jaffrey War Memorial Committee, Post Office Box 565, Jaffrey, NH 03452-0565

Burial will follow at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours which will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2009 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow calling hours at 11:00AM in Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will officiate.
