Jaffrey, New HampshireMARIE U. COTE, 101, of Stratton Road, Jaffrey died Tuesday December 4, 2007 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, surrounded by her family.She was born March 9, 1906, in Greenville, NH daughter of the late Jules and Elise (Cloutier) Desrosiers.She has been a resident of Jaffrey since 1917.Mrs. Cote was once employed as a maid to a wealthy Providence, RI family and later worked in the Jaffrey Mills as an inspector. She retired in 1971 from W.W. Cross Co. in Jaffrey.Mrs. Cote had a lifelong love of dancing. She was also an avid bingo player and was a fixture for many years at bingo halls throughout the region. She was a loyal Red Sox fan.Mrs. Cote was the holder of Jaffreys Boston Post Cane as the towns oldest living resident.Her courage, optimism and good humor were an inspiration to all who knew her.She married Anthony Cote in 1928; he died August 21, 1971.Survivors include two daughters Jacqueline H. Langevin and Danielle U. Bosse both of Jaffrey; two sons Anthony Cote Jr. of North Hampton, NH and Alan C. Cote of Jaffrey; 11 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; 3 step-grand daughters; 6 step great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves special friends Leo and Bertha Bourque of Jaffrey and Louise and Kenneth Thoman of Trumbull, CT.She was predeceased by a grandson Scott A. Langevin as well as a great-granddaughter Angela Hebert.

Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street in Jaffrey on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 1:30 PM at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Spring burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Jaffrey.
