Marion J. Brumaghim, 83, of Peterborough died peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016 with family by her side.
She was born July 6, 1933 in New London, CT, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Borowski) Grippo. Marion was a 1951 graduate of Chapman Tech High School in New London, CT.
During her life, Marion enjoyed bowling, golf, bingo, watching "Price is Right", her cats Molly and Millie, hand feeding the squirrels and chipmunks that lived in her neighborhood, visiting with her family and friends, going to Foxwoods with her sister Janie, and catching blue crabs. She volunteered at the Peterborough Players and Monadnock Humane Society in Peterborough and donated to many animal and Native American causes. Marion was a talented artist who painted nature scenes, and enjoyed listening to music and had a passion for opera.
Marion married Richard "Dick" Brumaghim on February 10, 1953 who predeceased her on January 14, 2010.
She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Smith and her husband Michael of Bennington NH, Judith Davidson and her husband Rick of Kittery ME, Marian Caisse and her husband Donald of Temple, NH; and her two sons, Thomas Brumaghim and his wife Michelle of New Ipswich, NH and Steven Brumaghim and his wife Suzi of Troy, NH; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Marion's oldest son, Richard J Brumaghim, predeceased her on December 21, 2015.
Marion is survived by her sister, Jane Swan, of Niantic, CT and Marjorie Matt of Florida and brothers, John "Sonny" Grippo Jr, of Tennessee and Gregory Grippo, of Norwich, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 11:00 am in the St. Peter's Cemetery, High Street, Peterborough NH.
A Celebration of her Life will follow at 12:00 pm at the Monadnock Country Club, 49 High Street, Peterborough, NH. The family warmly invites all those who would like to come and share their memories of her life.
