Marjorie E. Stewart, 98, resident of Jaffrey, NH died after a period of declining health on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH.
She was born on October 24, 1919 in Jaffrey, NH, a daughter of the late Albert and Corrinne (Butler) Ellis.
Marjorie was raised and educated in Jaffrey and graduated from Conant High class of 1938. After high school Marjorie went on to work for D.D. Beans match factory, then she did clerical work in Peterborough at the Guernsey and finally retiring from New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough.
She married Leonard H. Stewart II and together made their family here in Jaffrey.
When she wasn’t working Marjorie enjoyed time spent making jokes and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren who she adored.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was pre-deceased by her loving husband Leonard, three brothers; Harold, Edmund, and Vernon and one sister, Doris LaFortune.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul Stewart of Rindge and Leonard and Tamie Stewart also of Rindge. Her loving grandchildren; Chris and his wife Debbie of Jaffrey, Alan, Seth and wife Sonia, Jeremy, Danielle and Natasha of Rindge and Andre ‘of Keene. Great Grandchildren, Michaela, Madison, Casey, Max, Owen, Kaydence and Blake and many nieces’ nephews and cousins.
Calling hour will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River St, Jaffrey, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the St. Patrick’s Parish, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH (All are invited to meet at church). Burial will follow in the Conant Cemetery.
