Mary Rose Fafard, 93, longtime resident of New Ipswich, NH, passed away on November 11, 2024, at Monadnock Community Hospital following a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
She was born in Middletown, Connecticut on November 2, 1931. Her family moved to various places during her early life, until they eventually moved and settled in Greenville, NH where she attended Sacred Heart School. Mary began working at a young age in the textile mills in Greenville to help support her family. She worked at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough as well as Millipore in Jaffrey before deciding to leave the workforce to care for her mother, while also continuing to be a loving, faithful and caring homemaker to her husband and family.
In 1960 she met the love of her life, Jean Fafard, and the two married in 1961. In 1969 the pair built their dream home in New Ipswich where they spent their lives together. Mary was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Greenville, NH.
As faithful Catholics, she and her husband Jean made their Marriage Encounter together in 1971. Mary was also involved with Cursillo and Charismatic Renewal and Kairos Prison Ministry and was a Eucharistic Minister who also help with CCD program in her parish for many years.
Mary was preceded in death by her twin sister Marion Lord who passed in 2019.
She leaves behind Jean Fafard, her husband of 63 years. As well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary’s love of life, dedication, humor, and inspiration will greatly be missed by all that knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 19 High St., Greenville, NH. Burial will be held immediately following in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul, Sacred Heart Church, 19 High St., Greenville, NH 03048.
