Matthew T. Bergeron

Matthew Bergeron, 45, of Jaffrey, was surrounded by his family when he died on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at the UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, MA after a sudden illness.

Matt was born on June 1, 1971 in Peterborough, NH, son of the late Lionel ‘Chip’ Bergeron and Sheila (Speeney) Bergeron of Jaffrey. He was raised in Jaffrey and was a 1989 graduate of Conant High School. He owned and operated Matthew Bergeron Plumbing and Heating, formerly Dupre Plumbing and Heating, in Jaffrey. Matt was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Matt was an active member of the Jaffrey Rindge Rotary club and a coach for his son’s baseball team.

Matt is survived by his wife, Christine (Haley), their children Christopher (Ming) and Madelyn (Ladybug), his son Shawn from his first marriage, his mother Sheila, his brothers Chris, Andy, Teddy, Tony, Alex, Leo, his sisters Kelly, Liz, Jessica and their families, a large extended family and many friends. Matt also cherished his special relationship with Johnny Dupre and Kassie Lunderville. He was predeceased by his Father Chip, his brother Jake and his best friends Jack and Woody. Much like his father he was a Law and Order fanatic. He was happy to share his (aka the right) opinion. He was always willing to give his time to help those in need as well as donate his wife’s time. As a final act of generosity, Matt was an organ donor.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202 South), Jaffrey.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Mark Koyama, Pastor will officiate.

In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Matthew Bergeron Memorial Fund, c/o TD Bank, 28 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452, to help with future education expenses for Christopher and Madelyn.
