Jaffrey, NH
Nancy L. Harvey, 55, of North Street in Jaffrey died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a very brief illness.
She was born on January 3, 1954 in Lebanon, NH, daughter of John and Edith (Spalding) Macavney and attended local schools. Through the years Nancy had lived in Westport, NH and Winchester, NH and moved to Jaffrey in the mid 1980s. She had worked at Plumb-Pak and at the Winchester House while in Winchester, and at Your Town Florist when she first moved to Jaffrey.
Nancy loved country music and lived for Saturday Nights spent at Peltos in Troy. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Rummy, and crocheting and knitting. She had made blankets for all of the young children in her family.
Nancy was affectionately known as Fancy Pants by all of the towns kids who knew and loved her. She was a great friend and like a second mother or grandmother to all. Anyone who knew Nancy, knew her door was always open and there were open ears for anyones problems, plus an unending supply of kool-aid and macaroni and cheese.
Nancy is survived by her son Michael Dunham of Jaffrey, her granddaughter Katie Dunham of Jaffrey and step-grandson Chris Hildreth of Hancock, her sisters Sue and Lynn, and many nieces, nephews cousins and close friends.
At Nancys request, there will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Nancys Life is being planned for this weekend; it will be announced on her online memorial at www.cournoyerfh.com when it has been finalized.
