Norma Edna Bowser (nee Martin), recently residing at Pheasant Wood Center of Peterborough, New Hampshire passed away on October 6, 2016, after struggling with the effects of Dementia
Norma was born in Malden, MA on January 21, 1927 where she lived until she was married to Charles Bowser at which time they moved to Wilmington, MA to raise their children. They were married 59 years.
Norma worked as a bookkeeper after she finished raising her 6 children. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed making reed baskets, weaving fabric and attending craft fairs.
Norma is survived by her five daughters; Betsy Beck & husband Kevin of East Longmeadow, MA, Cathy Mills & husband Arthur of Jaffrey, NH, Debbie Mills & husband Peter of Hancock, NH, Carol Fulginiti & husband Tony of Fitchburg, MA and Lorie von Jess of Acushnet, MA. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her 8 grandchildren, Chris Beck & wife Karyn, Tim Beck, Phillip Mills & wife Arin, Sarah Lawrence & husband Michael, Jeremy Scovil & wife Angie, Matt von Jess, Brittany von Jess Morse & husband Matt and Jarrett von Jess; her 9 great-grandchildren, Abbey & Shayne Mills, Emily & Mia Lawrence, Chance, Cody & Desiree Scovil, Lily & Ryan Morse and her great-great-granddaughter Natalie Scovil, as well as other family and friends.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband Chuck and her son Jamie.
Family and friends are warmly invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00am in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Activities Fund at Pheasant Wood Center, 50 Pheasant Road, Peterborough, NH 03458, or to the Monadnock Adult Care Center, 22 North Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
