West Peterborough, NH Patricia Charlonne-Dyer, 73, of West Peterborough, NH died at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, May 17, 2013 after a period of failing health. Pat was born on September 18, 1939 in Jaffrey, daughter of the late Homer and Pauline (Cote) Charlonne. She attended schools in Jaffrey and had worked at D.D. Bean and Sons before becoming the bookkeeper at Dyer Drug in Peterborough where she retired from in 1986 after 27 years of employment. After Pat retired, she began babysitting for many families and friends in her home in West Peterborough. She was known for baking the best pie crusts around and for baking up to 15 dozen cookies on a moment’s notice. She also enjoyed cake decorating and candy making, as well as crocheting, solving puzzles and playing several different games of Yahtzee at the same time. Pat was a member of the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion Auxillary Unit in Jaffrey. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her son, Donald ‘D-Dub’ Blanchette, her brother, Edward Charlonne, and her sisters, Sheila Charlonne and Joan Fontaine. Pat is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lee Blanchette of West Peterborough, NH; her grandchildren, Melissa Seppala of Peterborough, NH, Donald S. Blanchette of Jaffrey, NH and Jeremy J. Blanchette of West Peterborough, NH; her great-grandchildren, Olivia Jade Blanchette, Trinity Seppala and Griffin Seppala, all of Peterborough, NH; her brothers, Gerald and Vernon Charlonne, both of Jaffrey, NH and Francis Charlonne of Winchendon, MA; her sisters, Janice Hurd of Gardner, MA, Mary Lewis, Carolyn Haselton, and Marcia Charlonne, all of Brattleboro, VT, and Colleen Hardy of West Peterborough, NH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peterborough Fire and Rescue, in care of Chief Joseph Lennox, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Pat’s life on Friday May 24, 2013 at the American Legion on Webster Street in Jaffrey, beginning at 6:00PM.
