Paul R. Seppala, 56, of Rindge, New Hampshire passed away on October 4, 2013 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Paul was born on September 21, 1957 in Winchendon, Massachusetts. He is the son of Edwin and Mary Ann (Haapaoja) Seppala.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Rindge and had attended Rindge Memorial School and Conant High School. He was not a veteran, but was considered a true patriot. Paul worked with his brothers as the Project Manager and Estimator-in-Chief for Ji-Cal Masonry, Inc. for the past 13 years. He was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New Ipswich where he served as a pastor, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent for many years.
Paul was a loving, funny, cheerful, always smiling, amazing man. His faith was strong and his love and light for Christ was always showing. His favorite pastimes were being with family, friends and visiting with brothers and sisters in Christ. He always went out of his way to make everyone feel loved and made sure everyone knew that Jesus loves even them.
In addition to his parents of Lantana, Fla, he is survived by his loving and caring wife of 35 years, Sharon (Sikkila) Seppala of Rindge; his children; Tommy and Jana Seppala of Battle Ground, WA with granddaughters Rhianna and Audrina; Andy and Jessica Seppala of Metamora, Ohio with grandchildren Melanie, Anders, Edwin, Neil, Wesley, Keith, Lars, Analia, and Steven; Ronnie and Tandy Seppala of Managua, Nicaragua with grandson Nathaniel; Kenny and Ashley Seppala of Bufort, SC with grandsons Izaiah and a baby boy due any day; Jeff and Hnou Seppala of Rindge, NH; Denny and Shara Seppala of Battle Ground, WA with granddaughters Jayla and Alaina; Stevie and Kayla Seppala of Rindge, NH with grandsons, Cole, Dawson and a baby boy soon to be born; Scotty and Illa Seppala of Jaffrey, NH with grandchildren Ella, Ephraim and Alden; Rusty Seppela of Rindge; Roger Seppela of Rindge; and as Paul would always lovingly say, “the roses amongst the thorns” his 2 daughters, Christie and Melissa Seppala, both of Rindge, NH. Paul is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Ann and Jack Matson of Yacolt, WA, Susan and Lyle Stenersen of Rindge, NH, Darlene and Jon West of Rindge, NH, Calvin and Brenda Seppala of Rindge, NH, Peter and Mary Lynn Seppala of Rindge, NH, Timmy and Pam Seppala of Battle Ground, WA, Carla and Chet Olin of La Center, WA, Jennie and Adam Aho of Rindge, NH; sister-in-laws, Peggy Seppala and Kathy Seppala, both of Rindge, NH; his mother in law Eleanor Sikkila of Covington, MI; many nieces, nephews, aunts uncles, cousins and close friends. He will be greatly missed by all. P.S. we love you.
He was predeceased by four of his brothers, Ralph Seppala in 1962, Philip Seppala in 1969, James Seppala on March 9, 2013 and Michael Seppala on April 8, 2013.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, 117 Goen Road, New Ipswich, NH 03071.
The funeral service for Paul will also be held at the Apostolic Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. A graveside service and burial will follow at 3:00 PM in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery in Rindge.
