Paul Richard Christian

Paul R. "Chris" Christian, formerly of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Tennessee with his wife by his side.

Chris was born in Peterborough, NH on July 19, 1935, the son of the late Alfred and Olive (Robichaud) Christian. He was raised in Jaffrey and graduated from Conant High School in 1954. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and made it a rewarding 20-year career. His faithful service to his country included serving in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1967 and was involved with the air lifts returning the POWs home from Vietnam. After his retirement, he lived in both Phoenix, AZ and Tampa, FL working for the Veteran’s Affairs.

Chris married Diane Wilder Blair in Hancock, NH on July 22, 1978, in an outdoor family wedding. Together they grew their family with the birth of their daughter Amy in 1980.

He spent seven years living in Peterborough working for NEBS and as an active member of the Peterborough Fire Department as well as the budget committee.

Chris and his family then moved in 1985 to Englewood, FL where he was manager of a Benjamin Moore paint store. In 2003 they relocated to Pigeon Forge, TN to be closer to family.

He thoroughly enjoyed retirement, spending time traveling in his motorhome with his wife. They visited 38 states as well as eastern Canada. He also cherished the time he spent with his grandson.

Chris is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane of pigeon forge, TN, his daughter, Amy of Nashville, TN and his grandson, Cody of Sevierville, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
