Paulette Eva Marion, 78, of Jaffrey, NH, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Born on January 30, 1946, in Willowbunch, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Lorraine (Forcier) Poirier. Paulette graduated from Conant High School in 1964 as the Class President and held that position for 60 years. One of her proud moments in grade school was skipping rope 500 times in a row!
She would then go on to marry William Hautanen and start a family. With her two children in tow, Paulette moved to Oregon and then to British Columbia. She would briefly move to Quebec to take care of her parents. Paulette would eventually meet her second husband, Lucien Marion, in Quebec. They were wed in 2000 and were happily married until his death in 2023. After his passing, Paulette would move to Jaffrey to be closer to her family.
Throughout the years she had various jobs, she was a homemaker, a house cleaner, a telephone operator, and held positions at D.D. Bean.
In 2015 she was diagnosed with a serious illness but never let that get in the way of living life. Throughout her struggles she always made sure to keep her strength and her positive attitude.
Paulette had many hobbies and enjoyed traveling, as well as cooking. She was a very good cook, all who ate her meals knew nothing but joy. But nothing could compare to the love she felt when spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Paulette is predeceased by her husband Lucien Marion, her daughter Michelle Dorsey, her brother Roland Poirier and her sister Lucille Noah.
Paulette is survived by her son Michael Hautanen of Troy, NH; her sister’s, Carmen VanBlarcom of Jaffrey, NH, Jeanne Duval of Florida. She is also the grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Carmen and Edward Van Blarcom for all their help and support when she was very sick, and also a very special thank you to her friend Carolyn Cavadini.
Paulette was very well loved and will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.
