Peter Grippardi

September 19, 1920 — April 6, 2014

Peter Grippardi, 93, of Hallendale, Florida, died peacefully Sunday, April 6, 2014 after sharing his last year with his son Robert and his wife Wendy in New Ipswich.

Mr. Grippardi was born on September 19, 1920 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Frank and Rosa (Danna) Grippardi. He received his education in Newark and enlisted with the United States Army Air Corps. He served honorably in England during World War II.

After the war, Mr. Grippardi worked primarily as a butcher at the Hallendale, Fl A&P Grocery Store. He also worked at several of the smaller local butcher shops and meat markets through the years. He was also a great friend to many and always enjoyed being a handyman and caretaker to his neighbors. Mr. Grippardi will be fondly remembered for loving his wife, Lenda for more than 50 years and being the best husband and father he could be.

Upon coming to New Ipswich in 2013, Mr. Grippardi enjoyed seeing New England for the first time and made an impression on those who met him. He was always up for good conversation, a countryside ride, and his newspaper.

Mr. Grippardi was preceded in death by his wife, Lenda (Masti) Grippardi in 2001.

He is survived by his son Robert Grippardi and his wife Wendy of New Ipswich, NH and many friends and neighbors both in New Hampshire and in Florida.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or formal services.
