Rachel E. Burrows

Rachel Burrows, 68, of Jaffrey, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH, following a period of failing health.

She was born in Clinton, MA, on December 16, 1954, daughter of the late Harold and Rachel (Chase) Labbe, Sr. She was a 1972 graduate of Clinton High School, and later received her certification as a nurse’s aide. She worked as a CNA at Westwood Nursing Home in Keene for many years.

Rachel married Thomas Burrows on March 24, 1973. Together they made their home in Bennington, NH and later relocated to Jaffrey, NH.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoyed being a nurse, and especially caring for the elderly. She enjoyed reading, working out Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She was a very loving wife and adoring mother to her children, and grandchildren.

Rachel was predeceased by her husband, Tom, in 2011 and by her two daughters, Josephine Covery and Megan Burrows.

She is survived by her grandson, Thomas John Covey, of Jaffrey, NH, John N. Covey Jr. of Bennington, NH, her brother Harold of Houston, TX, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time.

Rachel will be laid to rest with her family in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bennington, NH, in the springtime.
