Raymond A. Popple

Litchfield, NH Raymond A. Popple, 66, died on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA after a very brief illness. He was born on December 31, 1946 in Winchendon, MA, son of the late Raymond E. and Eliza Ann (Chase) Popple. He grew up in Fitzwilliam, NH and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Popple was an Electrical Engineer and was the team supervisor at Semikron in Hudson, NH. He had also worked at BTU International and Ferrofluidics. Mr. Popple loved music, especially The Ventures. His collection of great music included all styles and was in every format, included Reel to Reel, 8-Track, Vinyl, LP’s, Cassettes and CD’s. He had been spending much of his free time converting the older music from their original format to CD’s to continue listening to them. Mr. Popple also enjoyed tinkering on his GoldWing motorcycle and taking long rides, gardening, and was an avid ‘Trekkie’ at heart after enjoying Star Trek through the years. In addition to his mother, Mr. Popple is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah A. (Hayward) Popple of Litchfield, NH; his 2 daughters, Stephanie A. Robinson of Hudson, NH and Jenny M. Morey of Maynard, MA; his 4 grandchildren; his 2 sisters, Mary A. Marsh of Tennessee and Sharon E. Dey of Texas; his brother Robert L. Popple of Fitzwilliam, NH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Mr. Popple’s life on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey, NH.
