REGINALD C. HILL, 90, of Squantum Road, Jaffrey died Wednesday August 26, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey following a period of declining health.

He was born May 6, 1919 in Enfield NH, son of the late Loring C. and Ethel (Webster) Hill. He was a 1939 graduate of Enfield High School.
During World War II he served with the United States Army in the European Theater as a Corporal with the 634th Military Police and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service medal with two Bronze Battle Stars.
He was a fifty year member of John Humiston Post # 11 American Legion in Jaffrey.

Following the service he began working for New Hampshire Public Service Company, first as a meter reader for many years and when he retired, following 33 years of employment, he was the Plant Records Clerk.
Following retirement he and his wife enjoyed winters in Sarasota Florida, where they were active with many of the senior groups.

Mr. Hill was an active member of the United Church of Jaffrey. He had served the church as a former Deacon, Trustee and was superintendent of Sunday school for many years.
He was a former member of Charity Lodge # 18 of Jaffrey, a fifty year member of the Jaffrey Grange, and was an Incorporator of the Cathedral of the Pines.
He and his wife were members of the Cloud Busters Square Dance group and also the Couples Club at the United Church.

He his survived by his wife of sixty three years Lorraine (Clark) Hill of Jaffrey; two sons Bruce W. Hill and wife Pamela of West Dennis MA and Richard L. Hill and wife Katherine of Jaffrey; five grandchildren, Daniel C. Hill and wife Nadine of Charlestown, MA, Nicholas S. Hill and wife Laura of Jaffrey, Samuel C. Hill and wife Meghan of Rindge, Abigail K. Derosier and husband Joseph of Jaffrey, and Liza P. Hill also of Jaffrey; four great grandchildren Amelia Hill, Chance Derosier, Sophie Hill and Clark Hill; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made either to the Cathedral of the Pines, Ten Hale Hill Road, Rindge, NH 03461 or to the Monadnock Adult Day Care Center, in care of Monadnock Family Services 17 93rd Street, Keene NH 03431.

Private burial in the family lot in Conant Cemetery, will take place at the convenience of the family

As per his request, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday August 29, 2009 at 11:00AM at the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Teri Motley, pastor, will officiate
