Richard P. Baird

Richard Baird, 52, of Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully on October 22, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey with his parents by his side after a courageous 2-and-a-half-year battle with Lung Cancer.

Richard was born in Peterborough, NH on July 11, 1966, the son of Harlan and Joyce (Chamberlain) Baird. He was raised in Jaffrey and attended schools here.

Richard had worked with numerous contractors over the years, learning many trades including, painting, roofing and general maintenance. He had worked with his family at Baird Paving and Contracting, JDK Striping, Franklin Pierce University, Peterborough Basket and many more. He always liked going into the woods every year picking lots of boughs for yuletide decorations.

Richard was a hunter and loved spending time enjoying nature in all of the seasons, but his biggest passion was fishing.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland and Rita Chamberlain and Donald and Marie Baird. He is survived by his parents, Hal and Joyce Baird, and his brother, Jerome Baird, all of Jaffrey, a large extended family and many good friends.

At Richard’s request, there will be no calling hours or formal services at this time.
Burial in Conant Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of his family.
