Rita Knight, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2016 at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Greenville, Mrs. Knight was born in Greenville on October 30, 1925, daughter of the late Honore and Regina (Bourgault) Desrosiers. She attended Sacred Heart and Appleton Academy for a few years but had to begin working to assist her family. She married Roland C. Knight on June 7, 1947 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.
Her years of employment outside the home were at Chamberlain Mills and Pioneer Plastics, in Greenville and Warwick Mill in New Ipswich, from where she retired in 1991.
A loving mother and adoring grandmother, she will be fondly remembered for her sincerity, loving smile, and devotion to her sons, grandchildren, and her cat Britney.
She found joy in life’s small pleasures: peaceful long walks, gardening her flower beds, feeding birds, making puzzles, and traveling.
Mrs. Knight’s life was dedicated to her family. She is survived by her son Norman Knight and his wife Lise, of Greenville; her son Maurice ‘Chuck’ Knight and his wife Valerie of New Ipswich; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristin Knight of Greenville, Bradley and Andrea Knight of New Ipswich, and Rachel Knight of Milford.
