Robert ‘Bob’ Kipka, 83, of Peterborough, NH died suddenly and unexpectedly on January 28, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
Bob was born on June 3, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Ross E. and Marion (Albin) Kipka. He was educated at the Hawken School, Phillips Academy Andover, and Yale University. He served in the U.S. Army for two years as First Lieutenant in an artillery unit stationed in Germany.
Following his service, Robert worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in Cleveland before moving to Gloversville, NY in 1962. There he met and entered into an eleven year marriage to the former Rovena K. Scribner. Together they had three sons, Campbell A. Kipka, Colin D. Kipka, and Alexander E. Kipka. In 1970, he moved to Peterborough, NH where he built a successful real estate business. He regularly attended All Saint’s Church and Keene State College.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jessica, Rachel, and Katherine, and by his six grandchildren, Chloe, Astrid, Natasha, Mather, Catrina, and Nathaniel. His kindness and good humor will be long remembered by his community, friends, and family.
At Bob’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 3:00 pm in All Saint’s Church, 51 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to All Saint’s Church for the local food bank.
