It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Edward Crowley Jr., “The Chief”, shares that on October 16, 2018, Bob lost his courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family. Bob was born in Winthrop, Ma on December 25, 1940, the oldest son of Robert Edward and Margaret (Entwistle) Crowley. He graduated from Boston Cathedral High School and following graduation he joined the printing industry.
Working first at Relief Printing in Boston, he rose from stock boy to president. He then became an executive with New England Business Service working in Peterborough, NH, Groton, MA, and Chester, England. Later in life he joined his sons at CPI Printing in Peterborough, NH. Bob was very involved in supporting his community and over the past few years he started Cougar Youth Sports Association to encourage youth sports in Peterborough.
Bob leaves his wife of 57 years Susan Mary (Sena), his son Robert Crowley, his wife Laurie and their children, Amanda, Bobby, John, and Emma, his son Sean Crowley, his wife Maria and their daughter Julianna, and his daughter Ruthanne, her husband Donald Boice, and their children, Brigham, Bryson, Brayden, and Brenton. Bob was especially blessed that all his children and grandchildren lived in Peterborough and he spent many years as an integral part of their lives. He was happiest attending school and sporting events, and never missed a special occasion. Anyone who met Bob was treated to stories of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He cherished his wife Susan and their life together which included camping in the bus, extensive travel and living for a period abroad.
Bob is predeceased by his brother James Crowley, and is remembered lovingly by his surviving siblings, Mary Boyd, Joanne Foley, Peg Crowley and Joseph Crowley, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral mass will take place at Divine Mercy Church in Peterborough, NH, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am. Following the mass family and friends are invited to the Hilltop Country Club in Peterborough, NH from 12pm to 4pm to toast his life and share memories.
