ROBERT F. LAMBERT, 86, of Jaffrey died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family,on TuesdayJune 2, 2009.
He was born March 5, 1923 in Jaffrey son of the late Francis and Ozina (Guerin) Lambert.
He had attended Conant High School in Jaffrey.

Mr. Lambert had lived in Jaffrey most of his life, however he had retired to Inverness, Florida from 1992 until 2005.
During World War II he had served in the United States Navy, and was involved in the Asiatic Pacific Theater as well as the Philippine Liberation. He was a member of the John Humiston Post #11 of the American Legion in Jaffrey as well as the Jaffrey Memorial Post #5613 VFW.

He owned and operated the former Rod Gun Club in Jaffrey for more than twenty seven years. He was instrumental in the purchasing of the property and the formation of the present Monadnock Rod and Gun Club on the Peterborough / Jaffrey town line. Bob was involved in various youth activities which he sponsored, such as deep sea fishing trips and bus trips to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play.

For many years Bob was a volunteer driver for the former VFW Ambulance in Jaffrey.

He later was in charge of maintenance at the former Monadnock Christian Nursing Home in Jaffrey which is now Good Shepherd Health Care. He also drove school bus for the Jaffrey-Rindge School District.

Bob loved to dance, but he most cherished time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of thirty five years Lucille (DuBois) Lambert of Jaffrey; two daughters Susan and husband Rolf Hansen of Cheshire MA, Rebecca and husband Michael Newton of Jaffrey; three sons Robert and wife Mary Jane Lambert of Peterborough, Steven F. Bourgeois of Bennington, Paul and wife Tina Bourgeois of Tewksbury, MA; twelve grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and brothers and sisters, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Penny Nichols in 1993.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at HCS, Post Office Box 496, Peterborough NH 03458.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 6:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 south) Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred H Deschamps, pastor of St. Patrick Church in Jaffrey will officiate.
