Robert "Peter" Queen

Robert “Peter” Queen, 64, of Troy, NH died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a very brief illness.

Peter was born on October 10, 1949 in Woburn, Mass, son of the late Robert and Nancy (Finney) Queen and attended schools in Woburn.

Peter was a loving husband, father and brother, and had dedicated his life to the youth in his community with his work at the Winchester, NH schools. He had a mind of his own, and enjoyed studying topics of interest until he knew them thoroughly. He became a phenomenal photographer this way, and his attention to detail and visual orientation showed through the photos which he shared eagerly. Peter was a great armchair sports fanatic and always enjoyed watching the Giants play football on TV. Even in spite of his illness, Peter was able to take part in his daughter Katie’s wedding this past week.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Lisa (Zanca) Queen of Troy, and his two daughters, Elizabeth of Troy and Katherine, and her new husband Michael Wood, of Jaffrey. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Priscilla-Anne and her husband William O’Neill of Melrose, MA, and Nancy and her husband Kenneth Montgomery of Chelmsford, MA, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Friends and family are warmly invited to Celebrate Peter’s Life on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) in Jaffrey, NH 03452 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Troy, NH in the spring.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Peter’s memory to the Monadnock Region Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH 03446.
